VP of Business Operations

We are a high growth company looking for a Business Operations leader to help us scale and grow the organization. You will drive annual planning, manage quarterly financials, and identify long-term strategies. Our support, fulfillment, and partnership functions will report into you, so you will work with them to set their KPIs and roadmap. Your projects will include, but are not limited to, building financial and operational models to understand levers that drive our business and forecast revenue (FP&A), budgeting, vendor management. You will lead mission critical, cross-functional efforts, deliver objective analysis and insights, and execute on strategic initiatives. You may dig into winning new market segments, design new business systems and processes to scale Dote, help us launch new products, or unlock new revenue opportunities. We care about results, not activity, and we have fun doing it. In all cases, if you like hard problems, are analytical, and are an amazing teammate, we want to hear from you.

You will be the first person to join our company in this function. For this reason, we’re looking for someone to come in with the functional knowledge and experience to be able to define and drive the direction of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage the business and operational systems and processes that make Dote tick.
  • Planning: As the FP&A leader, you are the key strategist in financial reporting, cost analysis & quarterly reporting based on key operational metrics used to drive business planning. You own the long term company model, forecasting top line growth drivers, strategic investing and scenario modeling. You will work with Product and Marketing leadership to evaluate the impact of growth programs and product plans in the model. Finally, you will evaluate budgeting and serve as a steward of capital by identifying opportunities to drive higher returns.
  • Reporting: You will provide visibility, governance and timely reporting of financials and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will manage our accountants. More importantly, you will analyze financial results, synthesizing key trends and assessing current and future business risk, and communicate to senior management.
  • Strategy: You will serve as a trusted, strategic partner to our leadership team in the areas of spend, ROI, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and profitability and help define and develop our 5 year plan. You will also do various analysis on competitive market and trends, and assist CEO on fundraising and board meeting preparation.
  • Partnerships, Integrations, Support: You will drive the roadmap and KPIs for this function, working closely with our head of partnerships and engineering team to scale out these functions.
  • Legal: You will own all contracts, terms of service, and other legal functions.
  • Admin: HR, Payroll, and other administrative functions will report into you.
  • Leadership: As the Finance and Business Ops lead, you will set the vision of the team to support CMB’s growth plan.
  • Communicate and build alignment with other stakeholders.

Sr. Product Manager

Dote is GenZ’s dream mall. We are a high growth company looking for a infrastructure product leader to help us grow and scale the organization. You will own the roadmap and lead the delivery team responsible for executing against that roadmap. Your projects will include retailer integrations, architecting support and fulfillment automation, payment processing, and fraud detection. You will sit at the intersection of customer experience and partner integrations, solving challenges with clever technical solutions as well as efficient operational design. We care about results, not activity, and we have fun doing it. In all cases, if you like hard problems, are analytical, and are an amazing teammate, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • You will define roadmap for retailer integrations, customer support, payment processing, and fulfillment automation.
  • You will write detailed specs for new operational features and flows.
  • You will work with engineers to architect and implement specs that create a better user experience and more operational efficiency for the company.

Backend Engineer

Dote is looking for talented engineers who work efficiently and are genuinely curious and excited to learn new things. Our workflow is fast and fluid as we work towards clear, quantitative goals. You will work closely with all teams across the company from Product Design to Operations and Marketing as we scale existing infrastructure and build exciting new features for our users.

You will:

  • Work with fellow engineers to architect, design and build our systems
  • Collaborate closely with the Product and Client Engineering team to develop new user facing features
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build tools and automation
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing infrastructure as Dote scales
  • Participate in a periodic on-call rotation
  • Review technical design, code, and documentation

You have:

  • 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Expertise in at least one programming language (preferably Ruby or Python)
  • Experience with database and storage technologies and know the tradeoffs between them (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, memcache, etc)
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices
  • A commitment to building quality and performant code

iOS Engineer

We are looking for a curious engineer excited to level up their skill set and learn new things. You will be a thought partner and collaborator across teams, especially with Product and Design, building new features for our app with the user experience and end customer in mind.

You will:

  • Design and build high performance mobile features in rapid release cycles
  • Maintain and improve existing features
  • Improve our codebase through continuous refactoring
  • Focus on high-quality mobile experience for Dote users
  • Work closely with product, designers and backend engineers to build new features
  • Stay up-to-date with state of the art iOS development
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Take ownership and have large impact on both processes and outcomes

You have:

  • Experience working with Swift and Autolayout
  • 3+ years experience working with iOS or relevant software experience

Lead Android Engineer

We are a high growth company looking for our first Android developer to build and maintain the Dote Shopping app on this new platform. You will be responsible for porting our iOS app to Android, and then growing and maintaining it on this new platform. You will be collaborating across teams, especially with our iOS developer, backend, product, and design teams. As you will be building Android at Dote from the ground up, you will need to take a lot of ownership and lay the foundation for our work on this platform going forward.

You will:

  • Build and own Android development at Dote
  • Design and build high performance mobile features in rapid release cycles
  • Promote best practices and ensure a high quality bar is maintained
  • Work closely with product, designers and other engineers to scope Android releases
  • Keep up to date with state of the art Android development

Associate Marketing Manager

As the first Marketing Manager, you will be a key player in Dote’s marketing and user growth strategies by running operations and logistics for our Top Creator Special Projects. Top Creators are fast-growing and highly influential social media stars—YouTubers and Instagrammers—who create shoppable content for Dote’s demo. These Special Projects usually take the form of branded products we partner with Creators to imagine, market and sell exclusively on Dote. (Take a look at press for Emma Chamberlain’s clothing line “High Key” launched earlier this summer.) We are looking for someone who is excited to develop and own some of the key functions of our Top Creator marketing strategy and decision-making, who can prioritize and support several of these projects at once with great attention to detail. You will think analytically about pricing, cost, margins, and our ROIs with the capital we put into each Special Project. This is a role for someone who wants to use their modeling and excel skills their operational and analytical skills to drive impactful marketing decisions at a high-growth startup.

You will:

  • Identify potential top creators and corresponding products that would be good bets for ROI.
  • Make effective decks in PowerPoint or Keynote for pitching Top Creators to work with Dote.

Data Science Lead

We are a high growth company looking for our first Data Scientist to lead and build this function at Dote. You will define and execute on the data roadmap at Dote, including developing our recommendations for products, brands and in-app content, as well as risk and inventory data. You will have the opportunity to make core algorithmic advances and apply ideas to the dynamic world of E-commerce in strengthening the Dote marketplace. You should have an extensive background in a quantitative field, a strong research background, and experience working with large data sets. You should be results-driven, highly motivated, and have a track record of using data analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and the success of a product.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the data science function at Dote.
  • Own algorithms that determine which content to show users in-app (brands, products, content, people).
  • Define retention and conversion campaigns that target specific users with offers.
  • Analyze revenue drivers and marketplace performance.
  • Leverage your analytical skills to analyze large data sets and optimize key metrics of the business.
  • Communicate your complex analyses and insights to a broad range of partners.
  • Own data at Dote. You will build key data sets and pipeline standards to empower operational and exploratory analysis.

You might be a fit:
