Head of Community

As Head of Community, you will own executing and leveling-up Dote’s content and social media strategy with our already highly-engaged audience. Dote Nation (as they call themselves) is eager to connect more with the product, the team, the Dote Girls (the social stars we work with), and each other. You will be the person to facilitate this and make this connection even more meaningful, authentic and in-line with Dote’s business goals. You will work on a combination of creative and operational projects to achieve this. This is a role for someone who wants to use their EQ, aesthetic, writing, operational, and organizational skills to drive meaningful sales, attract new customers, and retain existing customers for the business.


  • Make Dote’s social media presence best-in-class for our demo. For companies like ours, social media isn’t an afterthought, it’s a core part of our strategy and the best method we have to reach and engage our users. You will both develop and execute on a strategy that takes this critical channel to the next level and sets the standard for excellence and creativity in the industry.
  • Create and manage Dote’s in-app content strategy. We believe in contextualizing the commerce experience through social and content, and you will both the develop the vision for how we do so leveraging in-app content opportunities like shoppable posts, quizzes, giveaways, push notifications and more, creatively imagining how to bring content into the shopping experience and using data to inform your decisions.
  • Experiment with new platforms, initiatives, and ways to engage our users through content and community! We want to push the bounds of what it means to bring content to shopping, and you will be the one pitching new ideas for how to do so and executing on them. Podcasts, YouTube, email campaigns—we love trying new things and seeing what works.

You might be a fit:

  • You love to provide critical insights from what you observe on social media and through other communication touch points with Dote Nation that will help inform our marketing and product strategy.

Sr. Product Manager

Dote is GenZ’s dream mall. We are a high growth company looking for a infrastructure product leader to help us grow and scale the organization. You will own the roadmap and lead the delivery team responsible for executing against that roadmap. Your projects will include retailer integrations, architecting support and fulfillment automation, payment processing, and fraud detection. You will sit at the intersection of customer experience and partner integrations, solving challenges with clever technical solutions as well as efficient operational design. We care about results, not activity, and we have fun doing it. In all cases, if you like hard problems, are analytical, and are an amazing teammate, we want to hear from you.


  • You will define roadmap for retailer integrations, customer support, payment processing, and fulfillment automation.
  • You will write detailed specs for new operational features and flows.
  • You will work with engineers to architect and implement specs that create a better user experience and more operational efficiency for the company.
  • You will analyze the results of your team’s efforts quantitatively, incorporating learnings into your future roadmap.

Backend Engineer

Dote is looking for talented engineers who work efficiently and are genuinely curious and excited to learn new things. Our workflow is fast and fluid as we work towards clear, quantitative goals. You will work closely with all teams across the company from Product Design to Operations and Marketing as we scale existing infrastructure and build exciting new features for our users.

You will:

  • Work with fellow engineers to architect, design and build our systems
  • Collaborate closely with the Product and Client Engineering team to develop new user facing features
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build tools and automation
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing infrastructure as Dote scales
  • Participate in a periodic on-call rotation
  • Review technical design, code, and documentation

You have:

  • 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Expertise in at least one programming language (preferably Ruby or Python)
  • Experience with database and storage technologies and know the tradeoffs between them (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, memcache, etc)
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices
  • A commitment to building quality and performant code
  • A bias toward action - you have demonstrated good judgment shipping quickly while still building in a sustainable way

iOS Engineer

We are looking for a curious engineer excited to level up their skill set and learn new things. You will be a thought partner and collaborator across teams, especially with Product and Design, building new features for our app with the user experience and end customer in mind.

You will:

  • Design and build high performance mobile features in rapid release cycles
  • Maintain and improve existing features
  • Improve our codebase through continuous refactoring
  • Focus on high-quality mobile experience for Dote users
  • Work closely with product, designers and backend engineers to build new features
  • Stay up-to-date with state of the art iOS development
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Take ownership and have large impact on both processes and outcomes

You have:

  • Experience working with Swift and Autolayout
  • 3+ years experience working with iOS or relevant software experience
  • Demonstrated ability in producing high quality code
  • Familiarity with modern design patterns, coding standards and architecture
  • Experience collaborating with product managers and product designers

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with storyboards/xibs
  • Experience with generics and extensions
  • Experience with stack views and other modern components
  • Comfort with animations
  • Knowledge of Swift/Objective-C bridging

Lead Android Engineer

We are a high growth company looking for our first Android developer to build and maintain the Dote Shopping app on this platform. You will be responsible for bringing the Dote app to Android, and then growing and maintaining it. You will be collaborating across teams, especially with our design, iOS, backend, and product teams to lay out the engineering roadmap. As you will be building Android at Dote from the ground up, you will be taking on a key role in our team and laying the foundation for our work on this platform going forward.

You will:

  • Build and own Android development at Dote
  • Design and build high performance mobile features in rapid release cycles
  • Promote best practices and ensure a high quality bar is maintained
  • Work closely with product, designers and other engineers to scope Android releases
  • Keep up to date with state of the art Android development

Data Science Lead

We are a high growth company looking for our first Data Scientist to lead and build this function at Dote. You will define and execute on the data roadmap at Dote, including developing our recommendations for products, brands and in-app content, as well as risk and inventory data. You will have the opportunity to make core algorithmic advances and apply ideas to the dynamic world of E-commerce in strengthening the Dote marketplace. You should have an extensive background in a quantitative field, a strong research background, and experience working with large data sets. You should be results-driven, highly motivated, and have a track record of using data analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and the success of a product.


  • Define and execute the data science function at Dote.
  • Own algorithms that determine which content to show users in-app (brands, products, content, people).
  • Define retention and conversion campaigns that target specific users with offers.
  • Analyze revenue drivers and marketplace performance.
  • Leverage your analytical skills to analyze large data sets and optimize key metrics of the business.
  • Communicate your complex analyses and insights to a broad range of partners.
  • Own data at Dote. You will build key data sets and pipeline standards to empower operational and exploratory analysis.

You might be a fit:

  • You have strong analytical and quantitative skills. You are familiar with techniques in machine learning and data mining (e.g. Recommender Systems, Natural Language Processing, Computational Advertising, Deep Learning and Computer Vision or related fields.)
  • You have strong technical and programming skills. You are familiar with relevant technologies and languages (e.g. R, Python etc.). You have experience in or desire to learn Hadoop/Spark and related Big Data technologies.
  • You have the ability to quickly prototype ideas and solve complex problems by adapting creative approaches.
